It's 2013?
I can't believe so much time has passed since my last blog entry.
So much has happened and is on the horizon. So, what has changed and what has stayed the same?
- I got to work at Microsoft Games Studios as an Avid Editor but sadly it was only for one contract. Yes, part of my job was to play XBOX. So rough! :)
- My romantic life seems to be at a stand still, but is actually evolving ever so slowly and in a more positive direction.
- If you hadn't figured it out, working at Microsoft usually requires living in Seattle-and that's where I find myself on a cold April day.
- Since I've been unemployed since July and have only recently had some promising interviews, I've been concentrating on downsizing my belongings and vintage in anticipation for a move home.
- We did it! We finally pulled the trigger and bought tickets to visit my partner's family in Germany and Italy. I haven't been to Europe since 1992 and although I'm terrified of embarking on a vacation when economically behind the 8 ball, I think it's important to take this step in our relationship.
- My mom's dementia has gotten worse and is another reason for my desire to move home.
- I've checked off a travel location that was forever on my bucket list: The Yucatan
- My best friend got married and single handedly allowed me to visit The Yucatan and the Mayan pyramids
- Many beautiful friends have gotten married and one couple has gotten divorced. I'm glad my friends are breaking from the statistics.
- Contemplating a career change which will allow me to work remotely and travel more often
- Contemplating a career change after fearing my beloved post production industry will go the way of the VFX industry
- Contemplating my own mortality after losing my dear father and a very good friend suddenly in 2012
- I turned 40 in 2012 and the amazing celebration we had in Palm Springs was quickly forgotten when my father suddenly had a heart attack and died in March.
- My godfather died of Dengue Fever in the Dominican Republic this year
- My stepbrother was murdered this year
- Carpe Diem has new meaning
- My 20 year old cat still sounds like a pterodactyl
- America appears to be going to hell in a handbasket quicker than I could have ever imagined.
- Through crisis, I've learned I cannot live without my real friends, boyfriend, and small family.
- Drones are real
- I will conquer After Effects in 2013
- I will lose the extra weight in 2013
- 2013 marks the year, my trusty 92 Acura Integra is officially declared a total loss after a hit and run accident the week of Valentine's Day
- We hope to book a sound bath in the desert this fall
- I've resurrected my Etsy store and still have fewer sales than my Ebay store. If you'd like to help with both of those causes, you're welcome to visit my links and shop till you drop:

Gettin' real in the Whole Foods Parking lot
This is my version of a "cop-out" post as I've been extremely overwhelmed lately by..well..life..
However, as I'm a video editor and all around film/music nerd-I couldn't resist this post! Enjoy and "stop blocking the quinoa"! Enjoy!

I'm not a crazy cat lady..
but having my kitty make her blog debut at age 15 is pretty fabulous:
Catsparella: It's Caturday!: "The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and cats from miles around are settling into their favorite sunpuddles for an epic Caturday snooz..."

Ringing in 2011 Olympia style!
This is the New Year's Eve saved by the Sonics! The Sonics announced late in 2010 that they'd be playing a show down in Olympia and we jumped at the chance. It just so happens that we have 2 good friends living in Olympia and we were able to crash at their fantastic digs.
If you don't know the Sonics, I highly recommend you catch up and check them out ASAP. Especially considering they have a new album out now and are on an extensive world tour.
The Sonics Wiki
It was a seriously frigid night especially as we did all our adventuring on foot. On the plus side, who wants to drive on NYE w/all the amateur drunks out on the road?
There were so many highlights aside from the actual show itself, I think I'll list them in terms of "firsts" for 2011! I hope starting the year off with so much fun and friendship leads to good things down the road (including writing in my blog a wee bit more often)
